Project Purpose
The Roseau Rock Arch Rapids is located in the Roseau River, south of the Canadian border. Fish passage has been an ongoing issue in the river, with low flows restricting fish migration past the dam. The changes made at this site will now allow for fish passage upstream and downstream through the site allowing fish to easily migrate to areas with deeper water as needed.
Project Benefits
- Opens the river for fish migration
- Positive impacts for aquatic species
- Improve stability of watercourse
- Aesthetics
Funding Partners
Funding for the project come from the Conservation Partners Legacy (CPL) Grant Program which utilizes Legacy amendment funds through the Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage Council (LSOHC).
